New Season on the Horizon for Scarlet Hawks




CHICAGO—The 2020 campaign is upon the Illinois Institute of Technology men's and women's indoor track & field squads, who will embark on the University of Chicago Phoenix Classic on Saturday, January 11 at 12:00 p.m. Mminika Effiong, Zoey Krevitz, Erin Nelson, Masha Staub and Madalyn Urig make up the Scarlet Hawks returners on the women's side while Abigail Schulz is the lone newcomer. 

The 12 returners on the men's side includes Evan Balizado, Barry Brookins, Alden Diaz, Nicholas Du, Juan Flores-Salazar, Julian Go, Robert Mathis, Kwame Opoku, Dillon Rattray-Mattis, Levin Rosete, Edwin Vallecillo Rivera and Austin Worley. Nine newcomers will be added to the men's 2020 lineup. 

The men and women will compete in six events in preparation for the 2020 NACC Indoor Championship on Saturday, February 29 at Carthage College with hopes of qualifying for the 2020 NCAA Division III Championship on March 13-14 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The 2020 outdoor slate will feature five regular season events before the NACC Championship on May 1-2 at Wisconsin Lutheran. The 2020 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship will be held on May 21-23 in Rochester, N.Y. 

Tyler McQuality will embark on his first season as IIT head men's & women's track & field coach. He is assisted by Desmond Meyer and Brian Dzingai.
