[Baseball] Kosar Makes CCAC Gold Glove Team

CHICAGO, IL - Jack Kosar was named to the CCAC Gold Glove team last week as a pitcher. The Gold Glove Team consists of 9 players, one at each postion. [Women's Soccer] Illinois Tech Women's Soccer Releases 2012 Schedule

CHICAGO, IL - Four NAIA National Tournament teams are on the 2012 women's soccer schedule. The Chicago-land Collegiate Conference will be tough again as all four NAIA tournament teams come from the CCAC. The Scarlet Hawks finished fifth in the CCAC last season and will look to improve their standing this year.

Illinois Tech opens the 2012 season on the road versus Grace College on Aug. 18. The Scarlet Hawks will host Indiana Tech in the home season opener on Aug. 25. The Tech women host St. Mary's College on Sept. 2.

CHICAGO, IL - Illinois Tech Men's Soccer team has released their 2012 schedule. The Scarlet Hawks face a tough task as they face three 2011 NAIA National Tournament participants.

The Scarlet Hawks open their regular season with a home match versus Concordia University (MI) on Friday, August 17th. National power-house University of Rio Grande (19-3 in 2011) visits Chicago for a home slate on Sunday, August 26th. Rio Grande was a 2011 National Tournament participant and the 2003 NAIA National Champion.

[Women's Soccer] Adrianna Maron Commits to Illinois Tech Women's Soccer

Adrianna Maron, a forward from Elmwood Park has committed to the Illinois Tech 2012 women's soccer recruiting class. Adrianna was born in Nowy Targ, Poland and currently resides in Elmwood Park, Illinois with her parents Anna and Dariusz.

Adrianna plays for head coach Marty Blake at Elmwood Park High School. Elmwood Park was conference champions in 2009 and won the regional championship in 2011.

CHICAGO, IL - - Illinois Tech head volleyball coach Jacqui Gatt announced Monday (April 9) the signing of Adriane Walther and Katie Lyons to letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Tech this fall.

[Women's Soccer] Ana Salgado to Play Soccer at Illinois Tech

Ana Salgado, a midfielder from Cicero, Illinois has recently signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Illinois Tech.

Salgado has attended Morton College for the last two years while playing soccer and running cross-country. Salgado scored 3 goals and had a team leading 13 assists last season. She was a member of the Dean's List and was on the NJCAA Region IV Division 1 2010 Women's Soccer Second Team and named Academic ALL NJCAA for Cross Country.

"Ana is a technical player that will add to our ability on the ball in the midfield. She is an unselfish player that looks to find open teammates," said Head Coach Marc Colwell. "She has two years of experience in college and will be able to step in right away to help us."

Salgado played high school soccer at JS Morton East High School for head coach Tim Drews. She plans on studying Civil Engineering at Illinois Tech.

[Men's Soccer] Bart Grabowski Signs with Illinois Tech Soccer

Bart Grabowski has committed to play soccer at Illinois Institute of Technology in the fall of 2012. Grabowski attends Munster High School and is a two sport athlete in track and soccer.

Grabowski was named 2nd Team All-District this season for soccer. He was also named an All-Academic Scholar Athlete. He was the captain for both track and soccer. Grabowski plays club soccer for Millenium.

"Bart is a fast defender that has the ability to get forward into the attack. He will have an opportunity to compete for time on the back line," said Head Coach Marc Colwell.

Grabowski has also excelled in the classroom. He is a National Junior Honor Society Member and will graduate Munster with Academic Honors. Grabowski plans on studying Business Administration at IIT.

[Men's Soccer] Marc Colwell Named Head Men's Soccer Coach

Marc Colwell has been named the head men's soccer coach at Illinois Institute of Technology. Colwell has assisted with the team for the past two seasons. The men finished 14-6 and won the CCAC regular season championship in 2010 and were 10-8-1 last season.

He holds his USSF "B" and NSCAA Advanced National coaching licenses. Colwell is also the head women's soccer coach for the Scarlet Hawks.

[Women's Track & Field] IIT Outdoor Track Kicks of 2012 Season

CHICAGO, IL - Last Saturday (3/31), the Scarlet Hawks participated in their first Outdoor Track and Field meet of the season at the Ted Haydon Invitational, hosted by the University of Chicago. Both the men‘s and women's teams competed well and there were a number of personal records on both sides.

[Scarlet Hawks] Scarlet Hawks Prep for Indoor Track Nationals

CHICAGO, IL - This weekend, March 1^st -3^rd, members of the Indoor Track team will be travelling to Geneva, Ohio to compete at the NAIA Indoor Nationals. To earn a spot at the meet, a competitor must have run under a certain qualifying time at some point during the regular indoor season. The ‘A' Standard qualifies you automatically and guarantees a spot in the field; the ‘B' Standard is also enough, but a team can send no more than three competitors that have only hit the ‘B' Standard. For the third year, the event is being held at the SPIRE Institute's GaREAT Sport's Complex (Geneva Area Recreation, Education, Athletic Trust).

[Women's Track & Field] Women's Indoor T&F Qualifies More for Nationals

CHICAGO, IL - At the Women's Chicagoland Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the Scarlet Hawks put forth strong efforts against some of the top teams in the nation, including many NCAA schools. The women's Distance Medley Relay punched their ticket to NAIA nationals by running a 12:44.54. That time is faster than the minimum required for the ‘B' standard. They narrowly missed the ‘A' standard by .54.

CHICAGO, IL - At the Men's Chicagoland Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the Scarlet Hawks performed well against some of the top teams in the nation, including many NCAA schools. Three school records were set, along with personal records for most of the team.
