Jordan Kelch
[Women's Cross Country] - From Menomonie, WI

Jordan Kelch, the 2008 Big Rivers Conference (WI) champion from Menomonie high school has signed a Letter of Intent to attend Illinois Tech and run for the Scarlet Hawks this fall. Jordan is a multiple time All-Conference selection for cross country and track and field for the Indians of Menomonie (WI) and also while competing at Arkadelphia (AK) high schools. During her high school career Jordan has been a four time state qualifier for cross country and is looking to do the same this spring for track and field.

"Jordan possesses the natural gifts that will allow her to make an impact right away" Stated Coach Kopinski. "I expect Jordan will rise up and run with our top 5 on day one. Running is in her blood and has always been a part of her and her family. I am excited for IIT to become a part of that family. Her academic and athletic resumes are impressive and makes for a perfect fit here at Illinois Tech. I look forward to the opportunities she has to add to both of them."

Kelch currently maintains a above a 3.8 GPA and intends on studying Architecture.


 
Roma Mirutenko
[Volleyball] - From Hawthorn Woods, IL

Roma earned four letters in volleyball, and as senior captain at Lake Forest Academy she led the Caxy's to a 24-8 record with two All Tournament Team nominations. In 2007, they won the ISL All Conference, finishing with a 14-0 record. Roma, a right-side hitter, plays for the Rolling Thunder Volleyball Club, with her team winning the Great Lakes Regional Qualifier in 2009, sending them to the 2009 Nationals in Miami.

Roma demonstrates confidence and leadership on and off the court. She is the managing editor and staff reporter for the Spectator, the Academy's newspaper. She will be studying engineering and is very excited about playing volleyball at IIT.


 
Brittany Mead
[Volleyball] - From Hinsdale, IL

Mead played on varsity for Hinsdale South for three years as a libero and/or defensive specialist. As senior captain she led her team to their first West Suburban Gold conference title since 1994. She was selected all conference player and made the all-academic team. She has been on the deans list for all ten quarters while in high school. She has competed in the Regional's for Illinois Drafting Educators Association at Moraine Valley Community College the past two years.

Mead followed her older sister in volleyball back in the 6th grade. She saw how much fun it was and decided to try it. Six years later she enjoys the sport as much as she did when she first started playing. She is currently playing club volleyball for Celtic Force. She has been playing club volleyball for five years. She will be studying Architecture and is really excited about playing volleyball at IIT.
