Marc Colwell enters his first season as head soccer coach for the Illinois Institute of Technology women's soccer team. The Scarlet Hawks finished 10-9 last season and were 5-5 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Colwell joins IIT after spending the last three years as the Assistant Director of Coaching and Director of Goalkeeping for the Junior Irish Soccer Club in South Bend, Indiana.
He brings an extensive coaching background in college as well. He was assistant women's coach for Saint Mary's College last season. Colwell was the assistant men's soccer and goalkeeper coach Bethel College in 2008. The Pilots advanced to the NAIA National Tournament that season.
Colwell was head coach for both the men's and women's teams at NCAA DIII Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI from 2001 - 2005. At Lakeland, Colwell guided the women's team to two NCAA Tournament appearances, three conference tournament championships and three regular season conference championships in five seasons.
Mary McCabe enters her first season as assistant women's soccer coach for IIT after completing her eligibility for the university. McCabe was a four-year starter for the Scarlet Hawks and was the leading scorer and team Offensive MVP her senior season.
McCabe, a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, attended La Cueva high school before coming to IIT in the summer of 2006. She is currently working as a Solution Specialist for Baecore Group Inc. in Schaumburg, Illinois.
