Freshmen Melanie Koto and Morgan Curran lead the way for the women's swim team this weekend. Each swimmer had numerous top 10 finishes in individual events while swimming on two top 10 relays. Curran started the meet off with an 8th place finish in the 200 IM. She came back 2 events later to swim to a 10th place finish in the 100 Breaststroke. On day two, she started things off with a 6th place finish in the 400 IM only to come back 3 events later and take 4th in the 200 Breaststroke. Koto placed 6th in the 100 Freestyle on day one and swam to a 4th place finish in the 200 Freestyle and a 10th place finish in the 50 Freestyle. Andrea Zuniga and Nicolle Mallinger each chipped in 2 top ten finishes to help the women's team place 6th overall.
The team now has a short break from competition to allow the swimmers
to focus on final exams. The next meet will come in Florida as part of
the team's winter training trip. The meet is set for January 3rd at
the University of Tampa Relays.
