Illinois Tech took on Concordia University of Wisconsin Sunday evening. IIT came up short in the end but are game by game and day by day growing and getting better. Once again the midfield for the Scarlet Hawks dominates the offensive end of the field. Five of the seven goals were put in by starting midfielders, Chelsea Badiola (SO/Glenview, IL) (3) and Mariah Kuitse (SR/South Bend, IN) (2). Starting at attack Florencia Carerrou added two goals as well.
"We've made progress in the past few weeks," says Coach Kirk Lamitie, "our time of position has increased every game and we are taking more shots, we need to make sure we make those shots count now." In the first seven games the Hawks averaged seven and a half shots per game, in the last 4 games they have increased their attempted shots to 18.5 shots per game.
The team also took time to honor the first senior class. Mariah Kuitse, Alex Miller (SR/Bedford, NH) and Ashleyann Sanabria (SR/Chicago, IL) gave their all in their second to last game at IIT. Come support the Scarlet Hawks at Stuart Field for their last home game this Saturday, April 19th at 1pm vs the University of Dubuque.
