Chicago, IL – The Illinois Tech women's lacrosse team hosted Lawrence Technological University on Sunday at Stuart Field. It was the second straight day the Hawks braved the cold conditions for 60 minutes of lacrosse action. Unfortunately, they fell to Lawrence Tech 16-2.
The Blue Devils got off to a quick start and found themselves leading 6-0 before the Scarlet Hawks could answer. At the 11:28 mark of the first half, Breanne Stromberg struck for her first career goal to put the Hawks on the board.
The Hawks struggled in the first half on the draw as they were outdrawn 9-2. They found a way to turn that around in the second half outdrawing the Blue Devils 4-1. Mariah Kuitse played a key role on the circle as well as adding a second goal for the Hawks to open the second half scoring. It was her first of the year.
The Scarlet Hawks are on the road Tuesday night as they take on Benedictine University at 7:00pm. They will return home on Friday March 21st for a showdown with Augsburg College. You can view that game and all of their home games live by clicking the "Watch Me" button on our homepage.
