Chicago, IL - Following the dramatic win over Eureka College on Friday night, the Scarlet Hawks returned to the pool on Saturday to compete against perennial top-25 teams DePauw University and the University of Chicago. Despite a loss on both sides, the Hawks continue to improve and post best times. "It's our only goal, to get faster. That's why you swim, put in the time, practice twice a day," said head coach Eric Bugby
. "Whether we win by 200 or lose by 200, I want everyone on this team to be proud of their personal performances. Swimming is a team sport by the final score, an individual sport by the final time."
Sophomore Connor McGuire
delivered on Saturday, recording four personal best times in the 100 yard breaststroke, 100 yard freestyle, and both relays. He was joined by teammates Joe Valio in the 200 yard freestyle and Zhefu Chen
in the 200 yard IM. The Scarlet Hawks' highest placing performer was senior Ray Mohaimani
in the 200 yard backstroke. His time of 2:04.63 placed 4th.
The team returns Saturday to take on Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL at 1pm.
