The 2014 season is going to bring some new and exciting challenges for the Hawks baseball campaign. Featured are 8 total home dates, the annual Spring Trip to Tucson, Arizona then two special road contests against University of Chicago and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology highlights the 2013-14 Illinois Tech men's baseball schedule.
The Scarlet Hawks will open the season Sunday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m. for a neutral site double header at Coveleski Stadium (South Bend, Indiana) the home of the minor league Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate. The Hawks will take on Goshen College.
Then it is off to Arizona for the annual spring trip over spring break. Tech will take on multiple different mid-west NCAA DIII opponents from Wisconsin and Minnesota while in "The Grand Canyon State."
The Scarlet Hawks season home opener will come on Monday, March 24th at 1:00 p.m. against Finlandia University. Other notable matchups will fall in mid-April against three straight Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) foes Marian College, Rockford College and Lakeland College.
The must see event of the season is the return of the "South Side Classic" back to US Cellular Field (home of the Chicago White Sox) on Saturday, May 3rd with the first pitch at 1:00pm. The 2014 South Side Classic will be a rematch of 2013 with the Hawks taking on Maranatha Baptist College. All fans, families, friends, students are invited to attend the event for free. Admission and parking are both completely FREE. We want everyone to join us for such a great event and to cheer us on to victory.
