Scarlet Hawk's defender Emily
Kunkel (Detroit, Mich.) was named in the Chicagoland
Athletic Conference Second team selection.
After a long hard season she was recognized for her excellent achievements
on the soccer field. Emily joins the list
of ongoing Scarlet Hawks players. Previous players to be selected included
current players, Hannah Zwibleman, Erica Delgado, and previous players Eija Hodgin, Amy
Bourquard, Megan Anderson, and Julia Campana.

"Emily has had a fantastic year for us and deserves this
recognition", stated Coach Peacock.
"Emily usually plays center midfield but this year we needed her knowledge
defensively, so we moved her to play sweeper.
She made the adjustment with ease because she is such a talented player.
Although only a sophomore, she has established herself as key member of the
team already and she will continue to improve.
Although I am very happy that she received this recognition, I am
somewhat disappointed. In my opinion she should have been first team all
selection, and we should have had several other player recognized this year. However,
individual nominations are coaches' opinions and unfortunately there is nothing
I can do about that."
