Chicago, IL – The Illinois Tech men's basketball team fell to Northeastern Illinois University, 69-55, Wednesday night at Keating Sports Center. A very young Scarlet Hawk team has struggled early on but is beginning to gel and find its way a bit as the season progresses.
The Hawks started off strong going on a 7-0 run in the first four minutes of the game. Guard Anthony Loss started off the action with a 3-pointer and then added another two points within the run. After NEIU got on the board, the Hawks continued to put the heat on, maintaining the lead for most of the first half. Unfortunately, they were unable to hold on as they headed into the locker room down 32-30 at halftime.
Despite the second half getting away from the Hawks a bit, Freshman Samuel Rarick finished with team highs - 18 points and 15 rebounds, with Anthony Loss adding 17 points in the effort.
Illinois Tech will next face off with Trine University as the Thunder visit Keating Sports Center for a 1:00PM Saturday tip-off.
