





Chicago, Ill. - The Illinois Tech Lady Scarlet Hawks played their first home game Monday against Trinity International University.
The IIT women struggled against TIU's full court pressure, causing many turnovers. However, good rebounding from Jessica Najarian and Lisa Reed kept the Scarlet Hawks in the game. Trinity International led by only 7 points at halftime.
Illinois Tech continued to struggle with turnovers in the second half, which resulted in 9 different TIU players recording steals.
IIT's high scorer was Rashida Joiner with 16 points in the evening, but TIU's Reanna Perera won the overall with 25 points. Najarian and Reed each recorded 7 rebounds, while Perera had 12 of her own.
The Lady Scarlet Hawks dropped a tough game 58-74, which dropped their record to 0-3. They are back in action at home on Thursday against Calumet College of St. Joseph's.
