CHICAGO, IL - Junior Center back Lauren Capuano was named the CCAC Women's Defensive Soccer Player of the Week. This marks the first time Capuano has won this award. The St. Charles, MO native recently was moved to the center back position and was the centerpiece in the Lady Hawks wins this previous week.
Capuano anchored the back line of the Hawk's defense in a 3-0 road victory against rival St. Xavier University. This marked the first win the the history of the program against St. Xavier. In the previous 8 matchups the Hawks were winless and had never scored more than a goal in any of the games. The Scarlet hawks continued their winning ways this last Saturday against #20 nationally ranked Robert Morris University. This was the first win in the history of the program versus a top 20 team. Capuano scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute of play while still playing a vital part in the organization of the shutout. IIT finished the week 2-0 in CCAC play.
