CHICAGO, IL. - The Scarlet Hawks battled with the #9 team in the country, but found themselves on the wrong end of a 2-1 decision.

Olivet Nazarene didn't allow the fans to settle into their seats as they scored on a set piece from 30 yards out just 59 seconds in. The Scarlet Hawks didn't allow the goal to rattle them as they hung in and went into the halftime stanza down 1-0.

In the second half, the Scarlet Hawks came out with a lot of energy and pressured Olivet throughout the field. Olivet's Meghan Pipal capitalized on a loose ball in the 64^th minute to give Olivet a 2-0 cushion.

In the 75^th minute, Marit Tundal dispossessed an ONU defender and lasered a right footed shot to the far post to draw the Scarlet Hawks within one with just under 15 minutes to play. The comeback attempt fell flat as the Hawks couldn't muster anymore offensive threats in the waning moments.

Illinois Tech will be back in action on Wednesday as they take on conference foe St. Francis at home. Game time is set for 7 pm CST.
