After falling a goal behind on Tuesday night the Hawks rally for a dramatic 3-2 win
Olivet, IL - After four successive Conference victories the Hawks entered Tuesday night's game with the nation's 17th ranked team Olivet Nazarene in confident mood, as they looked to win their fifth straight game and maintain their perfect start to the league season.
The Chicago team scored the first goal of the game in the 21st minute when Andrew Lichaj smashed a left wing cross past the outrushing Olivet goal keeper to put the Hawks one goal up.
The score was soon level however when on the half hour mark Olivet's Chris Walker thundered an unstoppable volley past Mike Tilatti in the Hawks goal to tie the score at one apiece.
With the score level at the half time break it was to be the home team who stuck first in the second period of play when Ian Perrotte's long range shot found its way past Mike Tilatti in the Hawks goal to put Olivet into the lead.
Falling behind didn't deflate the Hawks however as they would quickly get back on level terms, through a right footed Thiago Jardim shot in the 50th minute, before grabbing the games winner on the hour mark.
Brazilian striker Diego Diaz found himself with the ball at his feet 25 yards from goal where he cleverly made space, shifting the ball onto his left foot, before lashing a left footed drive past Walker in the Olivet goal.
The home team threw everything they had at the Hawks for the final half hour of the game but the Chicago team defended valiantly and secured the team's fifth straight Conference win with a 3-2 victory.
With the win the Hawks now move on to a perfect 5-0-0 Conference record, 9-3-0 overall.
The Hawks will now enjoy a full week without a game before they are back in action again this coming Tuesday (16th Oct) in the teams final home game of the season, against Trinity International.
Kick off will be at 7pm at the ‘Hawks Nest'.
