GOSHEN, IN - The Illinois Tech Baseball Team departed from
Keating Hall early Saturday morning for a double header against Goshen

the Scarlet Hawks in 3 weeks as they were rained out the last two

The Hawks came out swinging in the top half of the first
inning as Junior Nick Wise (Mendota, IL)

later drove Wise. The Hawks ended the
inning scoring 2 runs on 1 hit. Goshen answered back in
the bottom of the inning with a run of their own on a single to right
field. After a two-run homerun by Goshen in the bottom of
the second inning the Hawks entered the third inning trailing by a run.
Again the inning began with leadoff hitter Nick Wise who laid down a bunt for a single. He was followed by bunt base-hits by Ryan
Bouck (Mokena, IL) and Bill O'Toole. Senior Matt Bednarz (Carol Stream, IL)
doubled later in the inning as the Hawks scored 3 runs on 3 hits leaving 2
runners on base. The score remained 5-3
until the bottom of the 6th inning where Goshen scored 3 runs to take a one run lead
going into the last inning. Brian
Glennon (Darien, IL) led off the inning with a walk. Nick Wise
advanced Glennon to second on a sacrifice bunt.
After a walk to Bouck, Bill O'Toole had a long fly ball to centerfield
leaving the Hawks with runners on 1st and 3rd and down to
their last out. After Bouck stole 2nd
base, Jon Celestino (London, Canada)
came up driving in two runs on a single to leftfield. The Hawks were able to get another insurance
run on a single by Reid Matsumato (Aiea,
HI).

hitters. Sophomore John Rotella (Sugar Grove, IL) got his first college
win as he threw 1 2/3 innings and striking out 2 hitters without relinquishing
a hit. The Hawks finished the game with
