Upland, Ind. - The Lady Scarlet Hawks lost 1-0 in a physical match-up against the Taylor University Lady Trojans.
From the
beginning of the game, the IIT women had many goal scoring opportunities, but
were unable to convert any into goals. Despite the trouble, the Hawks battled
on, but only had little luck in front of goal. At the end of the first half, Taylor led the game 1-0
after a penalty decision.
The game did not improve in the second half, as IIT was unable to get the goal back. Illinois Tech struggled on, still unable to create any real opportunities. The game ended 1-0 and Illinois Tech dropped to an overall record of 2-3-1.
"It was a bad performance from us today," said Coach Peacock. "We didn't show up. We are a better team that what we showed today and that is the most disappointing thing. I can accept getting beat if we have given teams our best effort but today we didn't perform. We can't afford any off days."
The Scarlet Hawks travel to Grace College next Tuesday.
