Hawks overpowered by Stritch
Chicago, IL - The Illinois Tech men's soccer team were edged out on Halloween night as the visiting Wolves of Cardinal Stritch University.
It was the visitors who took the led early when Davis Penrich pounced to score in only the 4th minute of play.
The game was a scrappy affair with neither team imposing themselves on the game after the goal although the shot count favored the hosts by 7 to 1.
The second half started ideally for the hawks when junior midfielder Luke Blakely headed home from a Ritchie-Smith assist.
The visitors responded well to the setback and once again took the lead on the hour mark when Andy Collins' shot from the top of the box found the top corner. Only minutes later Gareth Ringrose broke free to score and seal the contest.
The defeat drops the Hawks to 8-9-0 (4-5 CCAC).
