Pulaski, Tenn. - The Scarlet Hawks traveled to Pulaski, Tennessee for a
Labor Day weekend tournament at reigning national champions Martin Methodist
College. On Saturday, the IIT women's
soccer team played against the host team.
MMC completely dominated the 1st half with five unanswered
goals. The Scarlet Hawks competed better in the second half, and was able to
shut down MMC's offense, leaving MMC scoreless after the break.
"It was an experience for us today, "Coach Peacock. "We've just played
against the best team in the nation. It
was an eye opener for us, and experience, that hopefully the younger players in
the group will learn from. The pleasing thing is that we competed, and at times
we played some decent possession. Although the result doesn't show it, there were a lot of positives to be
taken out of today's game."
The IIT women face off against Lambuth University
tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in their final game of the Martin Methodist tournament.
