






Saturday, the Illinois Tech swimming and diving team traveled to St. Charles Missouri to swim in a four way meet against Lindenwood University, Missouri State University and St. Louis University. The meet was held at the Rec-Plex, the pool that the National Swim Meet will be held at in March. Both the men's and women's team placed 4th overall. Diving was held first, and the men's team had three divers compete on the 1 and 3 meter boards. On the 1 meter board, Freshman Ian McNair placed 6th with a score of 208.90, sophomore Tom Lord took 9th with a score of 185.00, and junior Jeff Reilly took 11th with a score of 162.50. On the 3 meter board, McNair took 7th with a score of 225.30, and Lord took 10th with a score of 129.95.
Then the swimmers hit the water. The men's 400 yard Medley Relay freshman Matthew Rosenfeld and Eric Grunden, senior Joe Taylor, and junior Max Ramminger placed 3rd with a time of 3:38.82. In the 100 yard Backstroke, Ramminger took 2nd with a time of 54.26. Freshman Victoria Masney won the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 25.43 for the women's team, and Taylor took 4th for the men's with a time of 22.00. Ramminger took 1st in the 100 yard Freestyle with a 46.01.
In the men's 200 yard Backstroke, Rosenfeld took 6th with a time of 2:08.41, and in the 200 yard Breaststroke, sophomore Morgan Curran took 6th for the women's team with a time of 2:43.75, while senior Jay Park took 4th for the men's team with a time of 2:17.16, followed by freshman Michael Keane, who took 7th with a time of 2:21.55. Masney tied for 1st in the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 1:00.68, and Taylor took 2nd for the men's team with a 51.38. In the 400 yard Individual Medley, junior Joe Muchna took 4th with a time of 4:27.76 and Keane placed 6th with a time of 4:34.13.
The men's 400 yard Freestyle Relay of Ramminger, Taylor, Grunden and Keane took 3rd with a time of 3:!4.15, and the team of freshman John Lyman, junior Mark Callan, senior Brian Brady and junior Tomasz Chojnacki took 5th with a time of 3:24.59. The 800 yard Freestyle Relay team of Park, Muchna, senior Greg Herbert and sophomore Keiji Halloway took 5th with a time of 7:35.53, and the team of Chojnacki, Rosenfeld, sophomore Ryan Tapak and freshman Jeff Grindel took 7th with a time of 8:04.39.
The Scarlet Hawk's men's team will travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin on Friday to compete in a dual meet against their men's team, and on Saturday the entire team will travel to Lake Forest, Illinois to compete against Lake Forest College and Hannibal LaGrange.
