





PALOS HEIGHTS, IL - The Scarlet Hawks were defeated 2-7 by the Trinity Christian Trolls on Saturday, October 18th. The game was played at Trinity Christian's home field in Palos Heights, IL.
The Scarlet Hawks started off the game right away with a few chances on target but didn't get the ball into the back of the net until the second half. The first half was competitive between the two teams; however, the Trolls maintained the majority of the possession and had more shots on goal. TCC's Allison Doyle scored the first goal of the match in the seventeenth minute. The second goal was by Trisha Airth in the 37th minute. The Hawks were down 0-2 at halftime.
The Trolls scored straight away into the second half. Carly Comerouski scored with an assist from Lee. The Hawks were playing better offensively in the second half and created more goal-scoring opportunities than in the first half. Junior, Megan Meeke, scored IIT's first goal in the 54th minute of the match. Jaimie Ward found Meeke right inside the box, and Meeke slipped the ball in passed the goalie. TCC's Claire Comerouski rebounded from the goal to score two minutes later. Less than a minute later, Claire Comerouski scored again. In the 62 minute, IIT's Ward scored a great, unassisted goal against the Trolls. However, the Trolls responded by immediately scoring right after kick-off. TCC's Allison Doyle scored the last goal of the game in the 81st minute.
The Scarlet Hawks play Trinity International on Wednesday, October 21st at TIU's home field in Deerfield, IL. The Hawks' current record is 9-6 and 4-3 in conference.
