The Illinois Tech Women's Volleyball team (9-12, 4-2) fell to St. Francis University (20-8, 6-0) Thursday night. The Saints of St. Francis took the first game (20-25) but the Lady Hawks were able to fight back and claim the second (25-20). The third game was a nail bitter for the Hawks, who were down 14-21 in the game before fighting back and tying the score to 24-24. The Lady Hawks, however, were unable to take the third game (25-27) and ended up losing the match when the Saints claimed the final game (16-25).

Senior outside hitter Melissa Cheviron (Fort Wayne, IN) led the Hawks with 20 kills, while sophomore middle blocker Kayla Heller (Dixon, IL) and junior outside hitter Alyssa Walther (Chicago, IL) each added 8 kills. Senior setter Kiyomi Pyle (Tuscon, AZ) had 30 set assists in the match, while senior libero Aubrey Vanderheyden (Rockford, IL) added 16 digs for the Hawks.

The team will participate in the University of Chicago Tournament this weekend.
