CHICAGO, IL - The Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks trounced the Calumet College Crimson Waves 7-0 on Saturday, October 10th. The game was play on IIT's Stuart Field in Chicago, IL at 12 pm.

The Hawks were on top 3-0 within eleven minutes of kick-off. Junior, Stephanie Salem scored a great goal seven minutes into the game. Mary McCabe drilled the defenders to get a shot off at the top of the box, but the shot was deflected by the Opponent's goalie. Salem followed up McCabe's shot and chipped the goalie from about 25 yards out. This was Salem's 7th goal of the season. Three minutes later, Salem set up Erica Delgado right in front of the goal for a header. Delgado confidently headed the ball into the back of the net. One minute later, Delgado scored her second goal of the match off of a breakaway. McCabe slipped her in for a 1v1 with the keeper. The Hawks remained in control of the game and kept possession for the remainder of the half.

Freshman, Jaime Ward scored three goals for the Hawks in the second half. Ward's first goal was scored by a follow up on goal in the 60th minute of the match. Emily Tilton and Ashlie Ingold assisted Ward's next two goals with smart through balls from the middle of the field. These goals were scored in the 64th and 67th minute of the game. Freshman, Diana Otero scored her first goal of the season in the 84th minute of the game. Sophomore, Amanda Smith, assisted her goal.

Freshman Amy Arnhart played in goal for the Hawks in the first half, and freshman, Jessica Carlson played in goal the second half. Both players denied all shots by Calumet.

The Hawks record now stands 9-4 and 4-1 in conference.
