After suffering a heavy opening day defeat, the Scarlet Hawks got back on track Wednesday afternoon as they claimed their first win of the season against Viterbo University

Chicago, IL - The Hawks entered Wednesday's game with Viterbo University with a point to prove, both to themselves and to the teams coaching staff, after the opening games disappointment against Rio Grande. Not only did the Hawks claim the victory they sought, but they did so in style as they put in a confidence building performance in a commanding 5-0 victory over a gritty Viterbo side.

The Chicago team got off to the perfect start in the game when in the 14th minute freshman defender Joe Williams latched on to a loose ball in the box to put the Hawks one goal up. The lead was extended in the 20^th minute when Andrew Lichaj unleashed an unstoppable right footed drive from outside of the box to put the Hawks two goals in front. Williams would find the score sheet again with a powerful header before the half time break to give the Hawks a commanding 3-0 lead going into the interval.

The game was all but over as a contestant shortly after the resumption of play when Andrew Lichaj broke away to score his second goal of the game and the Hawks fourth. Lichaj finished off the scoring in the 65^th minute when he claimed his third and the team's fifth goal to complete a professional performance which sees the Hawks claim their first victory of the 2008 season.

The Hawks will be in action again this coming Sunday as they welcome Doane College to the 'Hawks Nest'.
