







Hawks Win 6th in a Row
JOLIET, IL - Illinois Tech traveled to Joliet Saturday to take on Saint Francis in a double header. The Hawks took an early one run lead in the first inning as they scored on a Kyle Guglielmo (Castroville, CA) single to centerfield. St. Francis got on the board in the third inning scoring twice on 3 hits.
The Hawks answered back in the top of the fourth inning scoring two runs of their own to retake the lead after Andy Kungis (Palos Heights, IL) led off the inning with a double. Illinois Tech added another run in the fifth inning on and RBI double by Bill O'Toole (Evergreen Park, IL) scoring Lorne Turrentine (Chicago, IL). After St. Francis cut the lead to one run, the Scarlet Hawks scored an insurance run in the seventh on a Jesse Stepniewski (Skokie, IL) RBI single to right field. Illinois Tech was led offensively by Thomas Hotz (Cedar Rapids, IA) who went 3 for 4 scoring 2 runs, and Any Kungis who went 2 for 3 with a run scored. Branden Schombert (Lockridge, IA) threw a complete game for the Hawks giving up only 3 runs on 6 hits. The Hawks will continue play later on today to finish up the double header.
