








Hawks Extend Win Streak to 5
BENSENVILLE, IL - Illinois Tech traveled to Bensenville Monday evening for a 5:00 double header. The games were a makeup for Sunday's rainout. Illinois Tech jumped out to an early one run lead in the top of the first inning on a Bill O'Toole (Evergreen Park, IL) RBI.
The Hawks were able to continue the offense in the second inning as the scored two more runs with two outs on a Thomas Hotz (Cedar Rapids, IA) double. Robert Morris was able to score two runs in the bottom half of the inning bringing them within a run. After a scoreless third for the Hawks, Robert Morris scored twice more in the bottom of the third giving them a one run lead. The score remained 4-3 until Illinois Tech's half of the sixth inning where they scored twice on a Kyle Guglielmo (Castroville, CA) double giving the Hawks the lead again. The relentless Eagles of Robert Morris tied the game at five in the bottom of the seventh inning. Illinois Tech wasted no time in responding though as they scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning on four hits. The Hawks held on to the four run lead winning the game 9-4. Offensive leaders for the Scarlet Hawks were Hotz who went 2 for 4 scoring 2 runs with 2 RBI's and Andy Kungis (Palos Heights, IL) who went 2 for 5 scoring a run with two RBI's of his own. Luis Montoya (Chicago, IL) started the game giving up 3 earned runs on 5 hits. Junior Patrick O'Brien (Niles, IL) came in relief going 6 innings and only giving up one run on 5 hits as he earned the win. The second game of the double header was cancelled due to rain. Illinois Tech will resume CCAC play next weekend where they are set to square off with the Saints of St. Francis.
