







Hawks Lose Close One
CHICAGO, IL - Illinois Tech set to square off against first place Purdue North Central today. PNC jumped out to a 3 run lead in the top half of the third inning. The Scarlet Hawks answered back in the bottom half of the inning with 2 runs of their own on a Kyle Guglielmo (Castroville, CA) 2-run homer to deep right field.
The Hawks then tied the game up in the bottom of the sixth inning on a Ryan Bouck (Mokena, IL) double. The score remained tied until the eighth inning when Purdue North Central managed to score twice more giving them the 5-3 lead which they held on to for the victory. The Scarlet Hawks had no problems hitting as they compiled 11 hits in all during the game, but just left too many runners on base. Offensive leaders for the Hawks were Dustin Reznicek (Willowbrook, IL) who went 2 for 3 and designated hitter Eddie Morales (Chicago, IL) who also went 2 for 3 with a run scored. James Dodgen (Flagstaff, AZ) started the game going 3 innings and striking out 2. Branden Schombert (Lockridge, IA), Nick Wise (Mendota, IL), and Jesse Stepniewski (Skokie, IL) combined to throw 6 innings only giving up 3 hits and striking out 5 batters. The Hawks will resume conference play at home this Friday where they are set to take on Trinity International at 3:030.
