James Dodgen Wins Pitcher of the Week
Junior left-hander James Dodgen (Flagstaff, AZ) was just declared the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. This award marks the first of its kind for Dodgen.
He received the honor after throwing his second complete game 1-hit shutout of the year. Throughout the game Dodgen struck out 7 hitters. During the seven inning contest, Dodgen faced only 22 hitters out of the potential minimum of 21. James did not allow a baserunner to get any further than 1st base the entire game. The Scarlet Hawks won the game 3-0 completing the 3 game series sweep of Cardinal Stritch this past weekend. Dodgen now has a season ERA of 2.84 (3rd lowest in the CCAC) and has compiled a record of 3-2.
