Hawks Fall in Game 2
WESTVILLE, IN - Game two of the Tuesday double header did not go much better than the first for the Hawks. The Hawks were able to take an early one run lead, on a Bill O'Toole (Evergreen Park, IL) double.
Unfortunately the Hawks did not hold on to the lead long as PNC answered back in the bottom half of the inning with 2 runs of their own. The score remained 2-1 until the bottom of the third inning where the Panthers scored 3 more runs. There was no more scoring for the rest of the game, as the Hawks lost the game 5-1. Jesse Stepniewski (Skokie, IL) started the game for the Scarlet Hawks striking out 4 in his 3 innings pitched. Sean Irish (St. Louis, MO) threw 2 innings without giving up a hit. Nick Wise (Mendota, IL) came in for the last inning striking out 2 without giving up a hit. The Hawks again struggled offensively as they only had 5 hits, two of which coming from leadoff hitter Ryan Bouck (Mokena, IL). The Hawks will resume play this weekend in a 3 game series with the Wolves of Cardinal Stritch.
