







Hawks Score 18 runs in Win!
CUDAHY, WI - The Men's Baseball team traveled up to Wisconsin this afternoon for the first of a three game weekend series against the Wolves of Cardinal Stritch. The Hawks were able to jump out to a 2 run lead in the top of the second inning on a single by designated hitter Eddie Morales (Chicago, IL)
The Scarlet Hawks got on the board again in the fourth inning on a 2-RBI single by Jesse Stepniewski (Skokie, IL). The Hawks scored 6 runs in the top of the sixth inning highlighted by a homerun by Kyle Guglielmo (Castroville, CA). The Wolves answered back in their half of the inning scoring 8 runs of their own. With the score 10-8 going into the seventh inning the offense of Illinois Tech struck again with 2 more runs on a single to right field by second baseman Ryan Bouck (Mokena, IL). After holding Cardinal Stritch in the bottom half of the inning the Hawks scored 4 more runs in the eighth inning highlighted by a 3 run homerun by Eddie Morales. The Hawks ended up winning the game by a score of 18-8 with the most runs they had scored in a game this year. Illinois Tech had 18 hits, and were led by: Brian Sklena (Skokie, IL) going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI's, Eddie Morales going 3 for 5 with 4 RBI's and a homerun, and Andrew Kungis (Palos Heights, IL) who finished the game going 2 for four, scoring 4 runs and knocking in 2. Luis Montoya (Chicago, IL) started the game for the Hawks on the mound going 5 innings. Patrick O'Brien closed the game throwing and inning and two thirds only relinquishing 1 hit and no runs. With the win the Hawks now have a CCAC record of 7-8. Illinois Tech will conclude the series tomorrow at home with a 1:00 pm double header.
