







Hawks Take Game 1 of Weekend Series
CHICAGO, IL - The Men's Baseball Team took on the Eagles of Judson at home for the first game of the 3 game weekend series. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning on a sacrifice fly by second baseman Ryan Bouck (Mokena, IL) scoring Eddie Morales (Chicago, IL).
The Eagles answered back in the top of the fourth with a run of there own. In the bottom of the fourth inning the Scarlet Hawks got on the board again on a 2 RBI single by Junior Jesse Stepniewski (Skokie, IL). Judson closed the gap to a run lead in the top of the fifth inning only to have the Hawks answer back in the bottom half of the inning with a run of their own on a Thomas Hotz (Cedar Rapids, IA) single score Bouck after a lead off double. Judson again got within a run of the Hawks in the top of the sixth inning. The Scarlet Hawks scored twice more in their half of the seventh inning on a single by Andy Kungis (Palos Heights, IL) bringing in Hotz and Dustin Reznicek (Willowbrook, IL). The Hawks added another insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a Bouck single to right field scoring Lorne Turrentine (Chicago, IL). Offensively the Hawks were led by Ryan Bouck going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's, Thomas Hotz going 2 for 4 with a RBI, and Eddie Morales going 3 for 3 with a run scored. Freshman standout Luis Montoya (Chicago, IL) started the game for the Hawks going 6 innings letting up 3 runs on 7 hits. Thomas Hotz got his first save of the year going 3 innings and only relinquishing 2 hits. The Hawks will continue conference play Saturday in Elgin taking on Judson in a 1:00 double header.
