








Dodgen Throws 1-Hit Shutout!
CHICAGO, IL - Game 2 of the Saturday double header displayed a very impressive pitching performance by James Dodgen (Flagstaff, AZ). Dodgen did not give up a hit until the seventh inning.
He threw the complete game shutout striking out 10 hitters! Along with Dodgen's performance the Hawks were able to put up 7 runs. The Scarlet Hawks jumped out to a 4 run lead in the bottom half of the second inning highlighted by a 2 RBI triple by Dustin Reznicek (Willowbrook, IL). The Hawks scored again in the fourth inning on a Brian Sklena (Skokie, IL) single up the middle. The Scarlet Hawks scored twice more in the bottom of the sixth inning. Offensively catcher Kyle Guglielmo (Castroville, CA) led hitting as he went 2 for 3 with a triple. The two Junior pitchers on the day combined for 14 innings while not giving up a run, 5 hits, and striking out 14. With the 3-game series sweep the Hawks are now 5-3 in conference and a game out of 1st place. The Men's Team is now 10-13 overall. They will pick back up next Wednesday at St. Xavier at 3:30.
