





Men's Baseball Wins 11 - 4
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL - The Scarlet Hawks traveled to the south suburbs today for game one of the three game series with Trinity Christian. The game remained scoreless until the top half of the third inning when the Hawks were able to put up 5 runs.
The inning started off with 5 straight hits by the Hawks. Singles by Brian Sklena (Skokie, IL) and Ryan Bouck (Mokena, IL) were followed by a bunt single by centerfielder Dustin Reznicek (Willowbrook, IL). With bases loaded, Thomas Hotz (Cedar Rapids, IA) singled in 2 runs. Kyle Guglielmo (Castroville, CA) followed that up with a double bringing in 2 additional runs. The Hawks took a 6-0 lead into the sixth inning when they were able to score to more runs on a Hotz homerun. After taking an 8-4 lead into the ninth inning the Hawks scored 3 more runs to take a 11-4 lead which they held onto for bottom half of the inning. Offensively the Scarlet Hawks were led by Ryan Bouck who went 3 for 4 and scoring 3 runs along with Thomas Hotz who went 3 for 5 scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 RBI's of his own. Freshman Luis Montoya (Chicago, IL) had another great start going7 innings without giving up and earned run and striking out 3. Sean Irish (St. Luis, MO) finished the last inning and a third without giving up a run and only 1 hit. The Men's Baseball team is now 3-3 in conference and 8-13 overall. The Scarlet Hawks are set to finish the series tomorrow afternoon at home with the first game beginning at 12:30.
