O'Brien Throws Shutout

CHICAGO, IL - The Scarlet Hawks took on rival Saint Xavier University this Tuesday in a mid-week conference double header.

The Hawks jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a Tom Hotz (Cedar Rapids, IA) single to right field. That early run was enough for a victory for the Hawks as Patrick O'Brien (Niles, IL) threw a complete game shutout only giving up 2 hits. The Hawks were able to tack on another run in the bottom of the sixth on a 2 out single by left fielder Andrew Kungis (Palos Heights, IL). With the victory the Scarlet Hawks are now 2-2 in conference play.
