





Hawks Lose 12-11
BOURBONNAIS, IL - Men's Baseball carried over their offensive prowess in game 2 of the double dip on Saturday. After Olivet jumped out to an early 1 run lead in the first the Scarlet Hawks answered back in the top half of the second inning with 5 runs of their own.
The Hawks were able to capitalize on the 3 errors committed by Olivet. Again in the third inning the Scarlet Hawks came out putting 3 more runs on the board with two of the runs coming on a Brian Sklena (Skokie, IL) single to the right side. Olivet came back in the bottom half of the fifth inning scoring 4 runs. Going into the seventh inning the Hawks trailed by a run but were able to put up 2 more runs on hits by Sklena as well as freshman Nick Wise (Mendota, IL). After taking the 1 run lead into the bottom of the seventh inning, Olivet was able to score the winning run on a single up the middle. The Hawks were led offensively by Brian Sklena who went 3 for 4 scoring 2 runs with 2 RBI's. James Dodgen (Flagstaff, AZ) started the game on the mound for the Hawks going 5 innings with 6 strikeouts and relinquishing 5 earned runs. With the loss the Hawks are now 1 - 2 in conference and will resume CCAC play at home on Tuesday with a double header against St. Xavier beginning at 1:30.
