







Men's Baseball Win 3 in Row
HANNIBAL, MO - The men's baseball team resumed play after yesterday's double header against Hannibal-LaGrange. The Scarlet Hawks jumped ahead to an early lead as they put up 4 runs in the top of the first inning.
After Hannibal-LaGrange was able to score twice themselves in the bottom half of the inning, the Hawks came right back in the top of the second inning scoring twice more. After a scoreless third inning, Illinois Tech put up 4 more runs in the fourth inning on a Grand Slam by Andrew Kungis (Palos Height, IL). The Scarlet Hawks put 2 more runs on the board in the fifth inning scoring Thomas Hotz (Cedar Rapids, IA) and Kyle Guglielmo (Castroville, CA). Guglielmo who was walked 3 times scored 5 runs total throughout the game. In the top half of the seventh inning, the Scarlet Hawks were able to score 4 more times on hits by Nick Wise (Mendota, IL), Brian Glennon (Darien, IL) and Jesse Stepniewski (Skokie, IL).
Kungis led the offensive attack of the Scarlet Hawks highlighted by a Grand Slam and going 4 for 4 with a walk, scoring 3 runs with an astounding 9 RBI's. Junior Patrick O'Brien (Niles, IL) went 5 1/3 innings giving up 5 runs with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. Nick Wise closed the game throwing 1 2/3 innings giving up 1 hit and striking out 1. Illinois Tech was able to compile 13 hits in the impressive 16 - 6 victory. The Scarlet Hawks will complete the 4 game series with a sweep later today.
