Hawks go 2 for 2!

HANNIBAL, MO - After taking game 1 the Hawks carried the momentum into game 2 as they scored 3 runs in the top of the first inning. The Trojans answered back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning. The Hawks answered back in the second inning with 4 more runs highlighted by 2 triples.


RBI's were turned in by Dustin Reznicek (Willowbrook, IL), Jesse Stepniewski (Skokie, IL), Thomas Hotz (Cedar Rapids, IA), and Kyle Guglielmo (Castroville, CA). The 7 runs turned out to be enough for the Hawks to hold on to the lead for the rest of the game. The Scarlet Hawks had 4 stolen bases to keep the pressure on the Hannibal defense. Offensive leaders for the Hawks consisted of Reznicek with 2 RBI's and Stepniewski going 2 for 3 with a walk and RBI of his own. James Dodgen (Flagstaff, AZ) threw a great game going 6 innings striking out 2 and only giving up 2 earned runs. Thomas Hotz came in to close the game in the seventh with a strike out. With the win the Hawks now stand at 3 - 7 overall with a two game winning streak. Illinois Tech will continue play tomorrow with another double header against Hannibal beginning at noon.
