Scarlet Hawks Drop Conference Opener
BOURBONNAIS, IL - The Hawks traveled south to open up conference play for the 2009 year. Their first step on the CCAC tour for the Hawks is the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene.
Unfortunately for the Hawks, Olivet jumped out to an early lead and took it into the half at the score of 42 - 25. Notwithstanding Illinois Tech's attempted run, they were unable to come out with a win. Typical scoring leader for Illinois Tech were Rob Knapczyk (Justice, IL) and Kyle Corbin (Tipp City, OH). Corbin led all scorers for Illinois Tech with 14 points along with 4 rebounds. Knapczyk contributed 11 points of his own going 3 for 3 from 3 point land. With the loss the Hawks stand at 0 - 1 in conference and pick back up Wednesday the 21st against Indian University South Bend. The game will be held at Keating at 7:00 pm and marks the start of four consecutive home matches.
