







Hawks Drop Game 2 in a Tough Loss
CLEVELAND, TN - Game two of the double header took place under the lights. The Scarlet Hawks were unable to hold on to a lead in game two, as they dropped the game in an 8-7 loss.
Junior James Dodgen (Flagstaff, AZ) started the game for the Hawks going 3 2/3 innings not giving up an earned run. He struck out 2 and gave up 3 hits. The relief staff struggled to keep the lead letting up 6 earned runs on 6 hits.
The Hawks came out in the 4th inning with an offensive explosion scoring 7 runs with 2 outs knocking starting pitcher Joel Matthews out of the game. After jumping out to a 7-0 lead the Hawks had trouble converting with runners in scoring position as they left 11 runners on base. The hawks compiled 7 hits in the second game of the Friday double header. The men's baseball team will pick back up tomorrow with 2 more games against Lee.
