The Lady Hawks drop their opening Conference fixture with a tough 101-47 away loss to Olivet Nazarene

Bourbonnais, IL. - The Women's Basketball team travelled to face conference rivals Olivet on Saturday in the sides opening fixture of the regular conference season. After three straight wins the Hawks entered the game brimming with confidence. Unfortunately, this was not enough. A powerful Olivet team proved too strong for the visiting Scarlet Hawks.

The standout performers for the Lady Hawks on a disappointing day were undoubtedly Valerie Zulevic, who came off the bench to score a team high 12 points, and Jessica Najarian, who dominated the boards recording a game high 10 rebounds. Regrettably for the Hawks, their efforts would prove to be in vain as the home team turned in a commanding performance to run away with the game 101-47.

This is Illinois Tech's first loss in four games. It drops the Lady Hawks overall season record to 7-10 and their conference record to 0-1. They will now look to bounce back this Tuesday in the teams opening home conference fixture of the year, a 7pm start at Keating Sports Center against Indiana University-South Bend.
